The financial advice process
At ING Financial Planning you can expect professional financial advice tailored to suit your circumstances. Through our 6-step personal advice process our clients are provided with quality advice and financial services.
Our 6-step advice process
Step 1 - Client contact
When you first contact us, our financial planners will highlight what you can expect of the financial planning process. The planner will present you with ING Financial Planning’s Financial Services Guide, which will outline who we are, the services we offer, our fees, and how we are paid.
Step 2 - Client enquiry
At this stage, your ING financial planner will take you through the Personal Financial Profile and/or the Personal Insurance Profile. These questionnaires enable your planner to collect the information they need about your personal and financial circumstances, needs and objectives to provide advice that is appropriate to you.
Step 3 - Letter of engagement
At this stage you will need to decide whether you think we can help you and whether you wish to proceed to the next step. A letter of engagement will be issued which outlines the services you have selected plus a basic fee structure. Once you have signed the letter we can start the preparation of advice.
Step 4 - Advice preparation
Your ING financial planner will evaluate all information gathered and will develop an appropriate financial strategy for you. Our financial planners will then develop a written financial plan for you called a Statement of Advice (SOA). The SOA will aim to show you how you can achieve your financial goals and objectives.
Step 5 - Advice presentation and implementation
If you would like to implement your financial plan, your ING financial planner will help you complete the necessary documentation and then place the recommended investments and insurance applications on your behalf.
Step 6 - Ongoing services
We believe a key element of the success of your financial strategy is to continually ensure that the strategy meets your personal and financial circumstances, needs and objectives. Your financial planner will offer you our Ongoing Service Program.
Once your ongoing service level has been established, your financial planner will continue to provide you with the level of service that has been agreed to ensure your financial well-being.
